Why Identity Matters

When we don’t know who we are, someone else will tell us who to be. We need an identity. We need to know where we came from before we can know where we are going. Without identity, we live reactively. With identity, we live intentionally.
Who are you becoming? How do you treat your family? Do you compromise on your values? Have you sacrificed any of your values out of laziness or conformity? Do you like the way you speak to others, how others think of you, and how you represent yourself in your actions? Do you ever take the time to pause and question if what you are doing is who you truly are?
These aren't easy questions. They may be hard to answer. We've actually asked several difficult questions this series, which are displayed to the right. Read over them one more time. Do you feel more confident in where you come from, and who you are as an individual? Is there something you wish you could change about yourself?
